Navarra's classes are rooted in open dialogue and shared experience between teacher and student. The emphasis is on listening to both the individual body and the collective group. Whether teaching ballet or improvisation, her classes explore a range of physicality, musicality, and nuance. With respect and care for formal techniques, she encourages students to tap into a sense of abandon and wonder.
She teaches ballet, contemporary, movement improvisation and Gaga, and also offers private lessons and coaching sessions in NYC. She has recently taught at NYU, New Dialect in Nashville, Tennessee; the Performing Arts Project in Winston Salem, North Carolina; the NYCDA Winter Intensive, and Edward Ellison Ballet in New York, NY. She has also taught Gaga at the Juilliard School, NYU, SUNY Purchase, and Hunter University, et al.
